As we approach 'Mothers Day'we want to spend time to thank all our Cripps Waratah mums for their support of their daughters and the club...
Our three identified mums as pictured have an amazing story and were featured in the 'Mercury' today (6/5/2014).
Jane Parsons mum to Kirra & Jess has been involved at the club for 11 years now and whilst she spent much of those years transporting both girls from Kingston to New Town for training and games, the Parsons girls now get their own way to training, but when they are on the road for trips up north or to the Nth West Coast you can always find Jane driving her girls and supporting them courtside... Jane is well acustom to bench and door duty for home games and has seen a lot of families go through the gate on game day to support their players... Jane has watched her little girls play junior netball right through to ANL, with both Jess and Kirra being named Captain and V/Captain of the senior team this year, a very proud mum indeed...
Annette (Annie) Grace is another one of our tnl mums who has supported her girls with their netball since both paying 11/under and to have both Madelin (19's) and Ellie (seniors) playing for our TNL teams this season is something she is very proud of. Annie continues to play netball herself with Cripps Waratah and has stuck with the club from the early days of playing with Waratah Netball Club to when they merged with Cripps Netball Club at the end of 1999 & like Jane, supports the girls and the teams when travelling and for home games by doing bench/door duty and cheering from the sidelines... Annie also knows what it is like to have a daughter represent her state with state teams and with ANL her biggest reward for hard work so far...Madelin entering the TNL competition into our 19/u side after being involved in our inaugral Underpinning Program 2013 is enjoying having her mum support her along with Ellie... Annie is never far away from where her girls are and they would not want it any other way...
Our club president Elizabeth Downward has double the fun watching her daughters Lauren & Georgia play for the senior team, Georgia coming up from 19's (2013) to make her mark as a permanent player in this very talented line up, like Jane & Annie, Elizabeth contributes to the successes of her girls and the club by supporting them across the state with travel, bench/door duty and cheering from the side... Elizabeth has enjoyed watching her girls play from 11/u - tnl & for the state also, therefore these three mums really do know what hard work and dedication is and what it takes to then reap the rewards at the top level; they would not want it any other way than to support their girls come this Saturday on the even of 'Mothers Day' and watch them play against Karana in what is no doubt going to be a thrilling match for all to see...
To have three mums at once all with two daughters each in our tnl teams is something rare for any club, well done ladies and ejoy your Mother Day...
